YDPAT: Securing Nigeria's Digital Future
The Youth Data Protection Awareness and Training (YDPAT) Program is a proactive initiative by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
We are taking decisive steps to close Nigeria's digital skills gap, equipping youth with the tools to secure their futures and drive our digital economy forward. This dual-level training will bridge the skills gap, enhance digital security, and build a youth-driven, data-aware workforce.

The program is structured in four well-defined phases to maximize impact and ensure a sustainable approach to learning.
Phase 1: Awareness Campaign
Multi-channel outreach to engage stakeholders and attract youth participation across all six geopolitical zones.
Phase 2: Training Delivery
Hands-on introductory training delivered online and onsite, equipping 5,000 youths with foundational skills.
Phase 3: Certification Pathway
Advanced certification for 1,000 top-performing participants to prepare them for official DPO roles.
Phase 4: Post-Training Engagement
Mentorship programs, job placement support, and an active alumni network for continuous development.
